Hulkonen is listed as having 10 assists in 12 games this season and 33 hits. He's obviously played more than 12 games, but we in the media have no idea what his stats could be. So we will have to speculate! Esa Hulkonen has played 22 games and has 5 goals and 17 assists, that's 22 points in 22 games. An amazing rookie season from a defenseman, but even better when you consider he has 75 hits in those 22 games. What a beast. Wait, what if Esa Hulkonen has even more points and hits than that? Hey nobody knows, so let's pretend he does. Esa Hulkonen actually has 8 goals and 25 assists to go along with 80 hits! Oh my god, Esa Hulkonen is a machine. A point producing hitting machine. Possibly the best rookie season by a defenseman in LSHL history. Also maybe not, but then again how would we know? Ok now let's pretend Esa Hulkonen is having only an average season, we knew he had 10 assists and 33 hits through 12 games, so let's pretend he now only has 2 goals and 15 assists for 17 points and 50 hits. Still pretty darn good for a rookie Defenseman, lol. Bottom line here is nobody knows how many points Esa Hulkonen has, nobody knows how many hits and we may never know unless the stat index gets updated.

It's hard to write media about such a great player when you cannot talk about his stats, so for now we will just saw that Esa Hulkonen is having an awesome rookie season and will be in the discussion for rookie of the year. He's made good on his 1st round draft selection for Riga and is a future star in the league. Looking forward to eventually finding out how he actually did this season.
